Mosaic of Aviation Memories

Welcome to the Mosaic of Aviation Memories Web Site

The history of aviation is as vast and far-reaching as the skies above. Presented here is a small, but significant part of that history; a bygone era when Campbell River’s Tyee Spit was known as the busiest seaplane base in the world.

From humble beginnings, through the golden era, to the present day, this is the story of Campbell River’s seaplane industry in all its guts, glories, triumphs and tragedies. A tale of adventure, intrigue and humour, with a cast of characters as unique and colorful as the surrounding coastal scenery.

This Web Site is dedicated to all industry members past and present, those lost to tragedy, and to those aspiring aviators looking towards the skies . . .
